Lucas Pasley-Til the end
Some musicians make music. Some weave stories. I present to you Lucas Pasley, a musician who can easily do both. As obvious as a heartbeat is, there is a panache for poetry this man has in how he composes. Choosing a lush instrumental background, he seems to glide over it like an offscreen narrator, magnetising us with his every word. It is thematic, yet we feel like we might know the story. It has a natural essence of a ballad, however it is intertwined in contemporary essence. Lucas Pasley has vocals that belong as protagonists in the story, preceding the theme, yet holding the whole story together. While it is gentle, the instrumental leads have a complexity that keep you honed into the song till the end:
The Winter Sounds-Cottagecore
I love a band that can tickle my imagination every colour of the rainbow and beyond. Luckily, The Winter Sounds have released Bedazzled, But Not Forgotten. It is a testament to the times, while being a gobstopper of an album. This track is called Cottagecore, and The Winter Sounds don’t need to explain it. From a synth pop background to extremely catchy vocal flow, this is the kind of music that becomes your latest addiction. You can see why, it has a little bit of tang from the evocative lyrics, a tempo that raises your heartbeat and a theme that squeezes in nostalgia. This is your favourite track this week, not because you’re going to listen to it on repeat. This is your pillow dream, delivered courtesy of The Winter Sounds:
